Dear all,
I hope you are very well, healthy both physically and emotionally!
Here are a few nuggets of wisdom from the holistic health department;-)
Needless to say, that the stronger we are in our mental, emotional, and physical self-care, the more healthy we will stay. And the healthier we stay, the stronger we’ll be for our families, friends, coworkers, and community at large to help one another.
I believe that within this crisis (as in all crises) lies an opportunity for us to grow stronger, wiser, and more resilient as a result. So try and use this time to really work out what little survival kit works for you- taking a long bath? Singing along with all operas from Verdi? Cooking hugely elaborate vegan dishes you always wanted to try out?
Let me suggest a couple of ideas during this time so that next to the well heard of recommendations, you can do to keep your body, heart and mind in good shape.
-Eat a miso soup daily. Just chop up a number of vegetables and cook them. Once all is cooked- at the end- dissolve a spoonful of miso, if you have, add some umeboshi paste- and stir it into the soup. Do not boil the miso! Miso has been proven to strengthen the immune system because it helps rebuild the intestinal flora and alkalizes the blood. A virus has greater difficulty surviving in an alkaline environment!
-Take naps as often as you can. Now that we’re all more or less stuck at home, use the time to really get some rest. A little 10-20min snooze can really recharge your batteries and be a vital support for your immune system and mental health.
-Laugh! Find a film, a book, anything that makes you laugh and helps you shift out of negative thinking.
-Have an exercise routine. There are endless youtube clips on yoga exercises you can do at home- from beginners’ to advanced level. Stretch, activate yourself, move the lymph, strengthen your body. You’ll feel much better afterwards.
If things are difficult and you are struggling with worry, anxiety or other difficult emotions, please remember- whatever is going on for you right now, I am here to help and offer online coaching sessions to support you!
I know that for many these times of confinement can be worrying and solitary, so please don’t let the “lock-down” get in the way of getting help.
I am two clicks away, so we can talk and do EFT to help you with difficult emotions, anxiety or other.
And of course:
Use your time for creative visualisation and goal setting- what would you like to improve in life? Is there a part of your life you’d like to change- would you like to reach out into the world in a different way? Write it down!! You have a 50% higher chance at reaching your goal if you have written it down. Remember- you’re on the planet for a reason. God, the Universe — whatever you believe in — doesn’t make any extra people!! No other person ever has, or ever will have, the unique blend of talents, strengths and perspective that you have. Don’t forget to share them with this world!
With love, Irene
